MirrorLink™ with Car Mode (for Android/Symbian)
Smartphone integration is made possible by MirrorLink™ to allow totally synced operation with Samsung Android*1 and Nokia Symbian*2 phones, duplicating the phone’s screen on the headunit’s monitor. The user can take advantage of “Car Mode” to access apps that have been optimized for in-car use, thereby assuring a safe and comfortable driving experience. The apps*3 are grouped into three categories for easy access —“Music”, “Location”, “Phone” for Samsung, and “Call”, “Drive”, “Music” for Nokia. Selecting a category lets the user quickly access specific apps for music playback, car navigation and maps, as well as hands-free telephone communication.
*1 For compatible Samsung smartphone (GALAXY S III). Samsung Car Mode App. Drive Link, requires installation of updated firmware to KW-NSX1 which will be made available for download at a later date from JVC Web Support Site.
*2 For compatible Nokia smartphones (Nokia 701, Nokia 700, Nokia 603, Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia X7). Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia X7 require OS update to Nokia Belle. KW-NSX1 supports Nokia Car Mode v2.0 with MirrorLink.
*3 Supported Android apps can be downloaded from Samsung Apps or Google Play to the smartphone, while Symbian apps are downloadable from the OVI Store.
